Incredibly under-rated.
After having watched this movie many, many, many times, I only recently realized that the Russian captain was played by Helen Mirren. I mean, she's the 3rd name in the opening credits! How did I miss that for all of those years??

AI 'art' is just magic use via brute force. Rather than spending time learning ancient spells, the caster simply spouts random gibberish into the aether until they get what they consider an acceptable result.
