apparently there isn't a way for <img> to get the width/height early, before the entire image is loaded. i see literally zero reason for there not to be, but web sucks apparently
in theory i could hack around that with a service worker and parse the image header on the fly but wehhhh

the more i report performance issues in stuff i use the more i realize that people just somehow not notice the jank???
like it's at least the third time a maintainer would post a video where it "doesn't reproduce" when the lag is clearly visible even past the video compression 😭

i think it's dumb that you can't reopen your own issue on github when it's closed by a maintainer
because once closed it will most likely never be seen again, even if the issue is not in fact solved
