I dreamt of the Kochen-Specker Theorem. The theorem states, in some way, the obvious: no one can live two lives at once. But despite motivating the definition of a key aspect of what makes quantum mechanics "spooky", intriguing, it's not well-known and subtler to explain than its brother Bell.

The reward for ego acceptance is energy. Massive amounts of psychological energy are inhibited like in a capacitor when ego defenses are employed, then move out explosively, which is effective for its purpose of discharge, but not of use.

Family, friend, or partner dynamics are fragile to unskillful or un-facilitated expulsions. Ego defenses often root in close relationships, and even when not so, they project onto close relationships easily. This puts "normal" socialization at risk when introducing a factor of vulnerability quickly.

This requirement to accept the failures of the ego is extremely challenging, and necessary. The container of group therapy is precisely the mode that optimizes for this emotional ego expulsion best.

Thus one can only dissolve the ego by identifying with its failures rather than its attempts at success, while also identifying with the integrated self.
