You mentioned being young, but my HS geometry teacher was old enough to be a WWII vet. He told us how he and fellow POWs would pull pranks on German guards just to drive them crazy. He was such a sweet old man that loved geometry, and I was fascinated he was once a young man that had been in WWII.
