Some updated background info for my fursona:

Televassi is a wolf who hails from forests of the north. Equal parts warrior and skald, they wander the great contintent in search of glory, gold, and inspiration for a good tale to tell.

Can we go back to silly hopes about the future being one where we can be turned into our fursonas through tech advances? That'd be sweet.

2015: Gets involved in furry so they have a social life outside of work colleagues.

2025: Furry offers probably the last bastion of community outside of the AI slop and bot sea.

2035? Retreats to the woods to embrace the dying embers of nature?

Yeah, I definitely agree. Figuring out what you want to do in a day or at a given time helps give that sense of satisfaction when it comes to the end of the day and wondering what you've done.

Random late night thought - I probably should look to see about whether some of the furry writing podcasts would be interested in some of my short fiction. I'm just so out of the loop with the writing community.

Just trying to be alert to how much I get bombarded by external things is an eye opener that there's a definite lack of agency in some aspects of modern life, and really how I need to have some good barriers to process it all, rather than just let it all hit whenever.

It's a bit of a jumbled thought, but I'm finding that the more I set out to do things purposefully and with intent, the better the results for me in both wellbeing and productivity. It's just about getting some control back, rather than be thrown about on the tides of the attention economy.

... the bar is set pretty high, and frankly yes, it's mostly the small indie devs that are pushing the medium forward and coming up with new and exciting works.

I still play Age of Empires 2 plenty!

I think a lot of good games have become classics, a bit like good books. You can still play and enjoy them today, and there's something fresh and timeless in them. And now that there are so many games out there competing for our time and attention...

I saw this before going to sleep last night, but yes, absolutely. I remember reading something about this elsewhere, and while I can't remember the finer details of the point, it was that yes, being bored can be important especially these days with constant notifications.

My husband took me on an apple picking date, and I just had to doodle the image I had in my head when I got home 🥰🍎

It is! It's pretty polished and the graphics are fine, it doesn't really need more.

Oh, I generally play either Macedon or Seleucids. Flexible mix of units and a good solid pike line gives a lot of options.

It is part of the lore. If you have ever been curious about taurs, it is a fundamental. But I do like it, it's good art and interesting to see!

Which is to say, when a game is good, you can still play it many years later. And since there are many good games like that out there, I have an ever decreasing amount of time available to play the new ones.

I think the fact that I've picked up playing Rome Total War (the original, not even the definitive edition) again says a lot about how I feel on most new games.

In other news, the steam autumn sale hits me with the same lack of feeling a tree probably has to shedding its leaves.

I'm just hearing anthro for "jealous taurs don't have to wear pants"

Reposting this before the anthro friends start sharing at me.

In there with Age of Empires. My kingdom for an idle villager button.
