I may be wrong but i don't think a new assembly would be much more different in division. Really this crisis seems bound to continue until the presidency of Macron ends.

I don't see the threat of a dissolution changing much to the incentives of the parties. Especially as dissolution was a possibility since Bayrou and it did not detter their action.

The idea isn't really about the virtue of the proletariat but that if we're going to be divided between people that own stuff and people that do stuff ; the people that do stuff can pretty much impose what they want by just deciding to do stuff for themselves and not the owner.

Maybe the crucial matter is not that the 2026 election will be fair, but how heavy handed in rigging it the Republican can be confortable with ?
Because if they must forgo heavy handed stuff like systematic stuffing of ballot, it doesn't seems unreachable to prevail despite the rigging ?

My best guess is that they just repeat the government narrative without looking too closely and the government push the idea because a full on debt crisis would pressure the opposition into giving in on the budget.
