Isn't the EU already quite independent in terms of manufacturing from the US? I mean a lot gets exported to US, while exports to China stagnate. In terms of US it is tech where the dependency is

"Businesses" don't give a damn about Europe, all they want to do is make a quick buck. They would sell their own mother just to get a little bit more profit. Ridiculous to take them serious.

Afaik some of the refining steps for materials that go into batteries can only be done by China. No other place on earth can do it. I find it remarkable.
