My mom says it that way. Weirdly, I only say it that way for "tape mayzhur," which you use to "measure" something. I've heard it occasionally in others, but have never been able to figure out an origin/region.

@jzimbabwe.bsky.social adding context since you don't read mysteries: VI Warshawski is the protagonist in Sara Paretsky's Chicago-based mysteries. Kinsey Milhone is Sue Grafton's lady detective in her alphabet series ("A is for Alibi" etc.). Paretsky is vastly superior to Grafton, IMHO.

But if you could only have insanely good luck about one or the other, which would you pick?
