Updated a data-fetching hook so the function owns its AbortController. This setup lets me trigger the `.abort()` from the hook and any external calls.

Consolidated my auth logic into a single, custom hook.
My form submissions now check state.type & behave accordingly.
Having everything in one place means:
- Less code duplication
- Consistent behavior
- Easier to maintain
