Garden grown, freshly picked and cooked artichoke is by far the best artichoke I've ever eaten. Store bought 'chokes are ruined for me, now.

I chuckle at kids talking about anime like it's a new thing they discovered. My intro to anime (it wasn't called that then, at least in the US) was Astro Boy, Gigantor, Tobor the 8th Man, Kimba the White Lion, Marine Boy, Speed Racer, The Amazing 3 -- all first-run.

Something I wish was in all cars: a descent set of tie-downs in the trunk. Because sometimes you just have to secure stuff. A pamphlet on how to tie knots might also be helpful for the knotting impaired.

In an effort to remain having the appearance of sanity, I'm try to pace myself with the outrage. There will be battles to fight, but it's going to be a long four years. In the meantime, we still have squirrels.

I've never cared much about celebrity. They have a job; they do a job. I do understand the reach they can have. So, I'm thankful for @hankgreen.bsky.social. I'm old w/ a crust of cynicism. Hank, though, tends toward positive pragmaticism. His tone is the message and is a great use of celebrity IMO.

I'm a #pievscakepieFTW sort of person (cheesecake is a pie). The best pie I ever had (twice, in fact) was some chocolate cream pie in a diner around Barstow, CA in about 1966. Great pie. To you time travelers, if you can get there, get some. You won't be sorry.

Bluesky confounds me. I know socnets thrive on followings and followers. It's what engagement is all about. But aspie introvert me kinda likes the (for now) quiet place amid the convos that has no expectations of me.

It's amazing how something as mundane as putting up exterior xmas lights becomes more fraught as the snow on your own roof exceeds the amount on your house.

Starting some low content publishing via CJCS. The first book out is a log and planner for makers if they want to have better records than scraps of paper. TBH, because of the default paper KDP paper, I'd recommend using a pencil. Give it a try or gift it to the makers in your life.

Two takes on Mondays:
1- Sunrise paints the sky
A fresh week of new chances
Monday's hope arrives

2- Alarm shatters dreams
Traffic crawls like tired snails
Monday blues return

When I first joined, in the olden-times when it was still invite-only, there wasn't exactly a catalog of people I personally knew that I could follow. It's cool that names familiar to me are finally starting to pop up like...popping up things. Sort of gives a raison d'post, nicht wahr?
