He’s seems to be talking about the Venezuelan nationalization of their oil industry. When that happened, all US oil company physical assets (like oil rigs) were seized. It happened in 1976. The oil companies are still pissed.

Venezuela nationalized their oil production in 1976. At that point in time the US oil companies lost their assets. That is what Trump is trying to regain? Putting our military on the line to regain assets felon 1976? Another endless war.
