Hermiston has now had temperatures between 50-70 degrees for over 10 days. Some of those days have had high winds & rain due to the atmospheric river weather pattern. I've got in quite a bit of basketball & it's been so nice I haven't worn a hoody or sweatshirt - it's been tee shirt weather.

Another warm day in Hermiston. It's 66 degrees at 11AMPT. The day has been mostly sunny with clouds rolling through the area. The Sun almost feels warm on the skin. It's more like a day in April or September. It's so nice I wore a pair sandals around the yard today. That's not normal for December.

Over the last 3 days I'd seen flies & bees when I was out & about. Today after shooting hoops I went in the house to grab the camera. When I came out something flew into me & landed at my feet. That's the 1st larger insect. Then while I was sitting on the bench insect 2 walked across the bench.

The weather station on the roof of the garage showed a temperature of 70 degrees at noon today. I shot hoops in a short sleeve tshirt. I was able to coax the Chickens outside & they ended up spending 3 hours outside. The even foraged for bugs & grubs along the fence.

Monday night I came back from shopping to discover the Chickens having a tug of war with 1 of The Dominant One's tail feathers. I grabbed a camera & of course they quit the tug of war. I went to pick it up & the Tech Chicken grabbed it with his beak & ran around the coffee table daring me to chase.

Monday night I came back from shopping to discover the Chickens having a tug of war with 1 of The Dominant One's tail feathers. I grabbed a camera & of course they quit the tug of war. I went to pick it up & the Tech Chicken grabbed it with his beak & ran around the coffee table daring me to chase.
Monday was a perfect December day. After days of wind & rain it calmed down & dried out. The temperature rose to 60 degrees. With the best day in 2 weeks I went out & shot hoops for about an hour. When I was done I was going to take a photo of the temp but it had already dropped back to 58 degrees.

If you thought there's been a lot of rain lately you are correct. On Saturday December 5, 2025 I checked the rain gauge & it showed over an inch of rain had fallen since November 29. On 11/29 the gauge showed 6.77 inches & 12/5 it showed 7.79 inches. Warmer temperatures came with the rain.

Saturday was the nicest day in over 2 weeks. The temperature was 56 degrees but the wind was gusting to 25 mph. The Chickens wanted to go outside but the wind was steady 25mph stuff was blowing around they went back to the utility & waited to see if it would go away. The wind didn't go away.
