We all want to feel special, so we don't look too close at the model. It sounds so good! And few understand that teacher work rules exist for a reason: To make teaching a career, not just a nice idea.

And when it's built, we the taxpayers will be saddled with the bills for the upkeep of this "privately funded gift." In years past, "gifts" of this sort were rejected due to the unknown cost of upkeep.

Who are these guys? Do they know any people? How does knowing the base price for something help in an emergency? All it does it make folks scared -- real scared-- of the bill. Few people have enough free cash to cover an emergency.
