I had noticed that as well...both the weird results when filtering by year & the bad cataloguing. Hadn't paid attention to the Feedback button, but will do so from now on.
In the area/era I'm currently researching (18th century Kent, England), I'm pretty familiar with the record sets, which helps.

I love, love, LOVE historical maps and use them all the time in my research, in combination with Google Maps Directions feature set to Walk, rather than Drive.
