I found it really came into its own when they added a non-hostile mode that not only turned off aggression, but also turned up the weird behaviours of the creatures.

Having said that, there were still times it felt dragged along.

I just hope it serves as a gateway to a genre that many find unapproachable for various reasons.

Even the team behind that one said it’s not an indie title but nooooo…

This has all the makings of a Goosebumps book about disappearing kids.

Real shame what happened to Hoggle, he would be perfect there. But at least he’s being treated well now! www.al.com/life/2023/04...

I spent a chunk of time in the north of Norway and I miss this shit. We don’t get it in the UK at all.

I mean, the water on your skin instantly freezing wasn’t so fun, but the entire environment is just the perfect feeling for me.

I’m really looking forward to the bubble bursting.

Annoyingly it means a chunk of work some developers at my workplace “had” to do will immediately become dead in the water, but stripping it out would be worth the headache for a better future.

It really helps that newer APIs are getting closer to “the metal” too. Both DX12 and Vulkan let you do some really fancy AND efficient things if you dare.

That version is becoming really rare too. Pretty certain only the original run VHS had it in any real distribution number.

If the laserdisc has it, almost all of them have rot.

Also nightly, if I need to run something overnight I try to make sure it shuts down after completing (usually via terminal).

Oh believe me I know. The number of times I’ve had arguments with people insisting I don’t need X or Y tool for a job - and many of them were with managers.

Anyway, knowing this, if you’d be willing to let the rhetorical “who would pay me” be less rhetorical, shoot me a DM or email my handle.
