One of the things that makes Texas bearable, and there really are many things, is the mild winter. I suffered from the long dark and cold before moving south, so I fully empathize. Hopefully you can feel more light this winter.

I've always kept a pretty stocked pantry, but lately it's just a little more stocked with dried and canned goods just in case. And I always keep at least one case of water in the garage, and gas for the generator.

My daughter is a librarian here and her branch does passports. They are overwhelmed right now. People are understandably fearful, like trans folks with the X gender designation on their passport. Parents are frantically trying to get their American born kids documentation.
