So not exactly the same, but two fascinating takes on police / crime shenanigans I absolutely love are Bedlam and Chew. Bedlam is a “reformed super serial killer now catches bad guys” story, and Chew is a hilarious alt-world where a cop can learn past events by eating things from a crime scene.
