Do not buy my books from Amazon or Down and Out Books directly. I will not get paid. I should get paid, as per my contract, but in an email from D&O I’ve been told ‘no further payments will be issued.’
It absolutely blows it is ending this way, but man, pay your authors what they are owed.

Some days "progress" is a just base coat or one good line of text.

It's prep for what's to come, when it comes.

Go easy on yourself.

Feels I've read these implied words a hundred times over in images of roadside diners and empty gas stations, soft light on the darkness. To finally read your actual words again is a gift.

Give me a "dumb" appliance over the new breed of "smart" ones any day. My parents had the same ass-kicking toaster for 40 years with one knob with the sole purpose of... toasting. Our recent one lasted less than a year.

As a late teen, I worked in a recording studio (very loosely defined), vanity precursor to modern-day karaoke. As customers waited to sing, the owner decided to sell photo buttons, the oversized ones mom's wear at their kid's sporting events. The insanity was how well these things sold.
