4/ We also found a dose-response relationship, whereby higher HDP severity and the presence of prepregnancy chronic hypertension were associated with higher rates of #Afib and mortality.

3/ #HDP occurred in 8%. We found that HDP was associated with a 45% ⬆️ in the risk of Afib and 31% ⬆️ in the risk of death without prior Afib dx! Importantly, events occurred in young women: mean age at cohort entry was 29yrs, and mean time to event was only 7yrs postpartum!

2/In this population-based study of >770k primiparous women followed for a median of 9.5 years, we employed multivariable cox proportional hazards models utilizing a competing risk framework to assess the association of #HDP with incident #Afib and mortality without prior Afib dx
