(I grew up on a volcanic desert island with tropical climate where it rains twice a year, I’m not used to rain, much less to its evil, icy and cold form).

I think snow is cool and beautiful when it’s on a mountaintop and I can see it from a safe distance, but I don’t want it anywhere near me.
Nope, nope, nope 🙂‍↔️

I understand that everyone’s situation is different.
I’m just asking for a bit of reflection on this topic ‘cause it hurts to see artists who even having the possibility, refuse to support their neighbors and keep buying from that ultracapitalist company while asking for support for their business 😔

Yep, you’re right. I’m lucky enough that in my area/country there’re still many family owned businesses.
I’m not sure if that’s common anymore tho 🤔

Almost everything I use in my business comes from local suppliers and shops. The prices are lower and the quality is better. After many years, they know me and I usually get good deals.
Those businesses also have websites where you can place orders if you don’t feel comfortable doing it in person.

Maybe I’m wrong, but this situation seems very hypocritical to me.
You can’t ask people to invest their time and money in buying from you as a small artist while you keep choosing the convenience of Amazon instead of buying from your neighbor, who is struggling under capitalism just like you.

It’s hilarious because Amazon is not even the cheapest option anymore, even their product quality gets worse every day, so there’s no excuse, I’m sorry. One thing is buying something from time to time, another is buying almost all your supplies there.
