It's my measure for judging films - if I can fall asleep and still understand what's going on when I wake up, then the film's too long. This enrages my cinephile eldest child.

As a child in the 70s I knew that the three most likely ways of dying were quicksand, alien abduction in the Bermuda Triangle, or shark attack. Keep your eyes peeled for sharks.
