I feel like the novelty somewhat fades in every relationship, but the extent is what matters. If after it fades, the connection just disappears, then all you had was the novelty and it was never anything real. If there's one thing I've learnt, there's no point in trying to save those.

To be honest I think you would realistically need someone with a table clamp to clamp it down and then bend it in with some pliers. There's also the option of heat but heating and bending could cause a break too
