Alright fine. Nakatani is allowed to write het romance staring a boring guy if she does more body horror and every single girl is more interested in Aru than Yutaka.
Yutaka, your average high school guy being glomped by his girlfriend. "To be honest, she's still incredibly cute." Aru Hoshina, your average "Zero-Class Hostile Foreign Body". Sato-Chan, your average high school girl. "Aru-chan! In that case why don't you just join the handcrafts club with me then".

Inks on one of the more fucked up panels (sans fujimoto) to be printed in weekly jump without missing a beat (cw suicide).
Gokuraku's no good very bad day. Nightmare of watching his "elder sister" stab herself in front of him. A stream of flowers blows by her, one of the petals with a blood stain. All Gokuraku can do is scream.

Also this casually funny gag where the same shot of SQ from episode 1 where SQ manipulates Yuri is used again--only to pull out to show SQ playing with Yuri.
SQ is staring at Yuri up close, mimicking a shot from episode 1 where SQ manipulates Yuri. The camera pulls back to reveal SQ, having crossed the threshold of the chair, pulling on Yuri's ears calling them adorable.

Meanwhile, as the scene plays out, we get shots of Yuri's pen rolling about. It's been their faithful partner in game solving as a human, and now its teetering over their edge. When SQ leaves it falls over--but doesn't hit the ground as Gnosia time begins and Yuri commits to their role.

One underrated scene from today's episode I've not seen discussed much: the scene with SQ reversing the scenario in episode 1. Where Yuri agonizes over fulfilling their role as Gnosia. Eventually they decide to not take advantage of her.
Yuri as Gnosia looking way from a playful puppy-esque SQ while their eyes flicker red. They are debating "what should I do?" Their shaky hands try to clasp SQ, but Yuri hesitates and pushes her away. Yuri and SQ sit on a bed with a chair in frame between them. Yuri says "either one of us could be gnosia".

I think this safely puts to rest the concern of "will it be as good". Doesn't matter. It's doing smart things with its new medium, even if its not the most technically advanced anime out there. Wonderful addition. I am hooting and hollering and pointing all at once.

Maybe my experience is unusual, but I feel like there is at least two kinds of Spanish classes in the USA. 1. American led which is just mix of Mexican and European Spanish via classroom setting. 2. LATAM teacher who is that, but when your done giving a presentation on a famous person will take off his glasses and say "let me tell you why the military is a tool of the rich".

Little bit of a celebratory post cause "Thea is Drowning" cracked 5000 combined download and plays (woo hoo!). But what baffles me is how does it have more downloads than browser plays???
Downloads are at 2808. Browser plays are at 2637.

On the topic of jp social media reactions, anglo anime spaces also in general don't usually engage also who in japan has preferences for what, or get commonly known facts wrong. Far simpler to go for whatever quick pitch you have.
Gundam Gquuuuuux on Filmarks, a general movie+anime media ranking site with a 3.9 star--which is about average-above average but not wildly impressive for gundam. Filmarks again, but for Gundam wing which also has 3.9--in small contrast what you may have heard about wing's reception in japan. Gquuuuuux getting a *3.4* on Anikore and 68.3 cumulative ranking (? no idea on how that one works), the anime/otaku ranking website. The 3.4 stars is about .1 to .2 points lower than basically every tv gundam but AGE. Gundam Wing again on Anikore. Still doing about average. 3.8 stars and 72.9 cumulative ranking.

Xabungle is great because you'll have the most intimidating cowboy on an alien planet smoking a cigar, but then the wind blows and he accidentally swallows his cigar.
Timp is an intimidating looking cowboy except for the smoke coming out of his mouth.

Yeah. I want to be hopeful on it, but also learning more about Anno+Tsumuraki world view's and how that affects my read of the show, plus some of the story stuff generally left me sour.

On perhaps a more serious writing note, I do think the addition of "it's yours if you get away with it for 3 days" is a fun code/law of the setting. Because it means Jiron saying something completely accepted in another anime gets himself laughed at.
Jiron wants to avenge his mother and father. Rag points out they traveled together for the last three days, and weren't around when Jiron's mom and dad died. Jiron admits they were killed just over a week ago. Rag and Bulme (and soon everyone else) laugh at Jiron cause he wasn't "man" enough to settle it within three days.

They removed a lot of the cibi bits from Cinderella Gray Anime--such as 'stinky oguri'--but at least kept this one.

Like Diebuster, an even shorter show, is able to work in this where the other kids trash talk Nono, only for Lal'C to casually throw Nono to the wolves.

But then also seems like Lal'c wants to stop Nono from making the mistakes she did, and does regard Nono as a friend.
Nono eavesdropping her getting talked down as "that Miss Klutzy is the reason the Princess's score has gotten even higher lately". Lal'c decides to throw Nono to the wolves as "I've never once had Nono's help". Lal'C tries to plead to nono "You don't have to become Nonoriri! Just stay here!" Lal'C realizes Nono is the first friend she invited to her house.
