I got badged for four days at COP30 and (against all odds) we got a place to stay! If you'll be there and want to meet for a coffee let me know 😄

Same in Tennessee, it's too rare here. I miss my childhood in the UP where snowbanks are taller than I am for half the year and the winter nights are long. Spiritually I'm here:

I like rain, but snow's my favorite weather condition

Karoline, an alleged Roman Catholic, is either not attending or listening to mass. The gospel reading two Sundays ago was very clear about the consequences of ignoring people in need.

He's a conservative adult convert, which is the worst kind of Catholic

Stewardship of creation is very much a Christian ideal. So is preferential option for the poor, which gives all of us the obligation to do something about climate change because of its disproportionate effect on the most marginalized people in the world

He's an adult convert, one of the weird ones who just wants to appropriate a religion for his own selfish reasons

Conservative Catholics need to get with the program. Preferential option for the poor means mitigating and helping the most vulnerable adapt to climate change because they are disproportionately affected. Thanks Pope Leo

"Some have chosen to deride the increasingly evident signs of climate change, to ridicule those who speak of global warming, and even to blame the poor for the very thing that affects them the most."

*Over 26. Or under for those who aren't lucky enough to have parents with good health insurance plans.

Reminder that every domestic graduate student under 26 at Tennessee State University will be losing their health insurance because of this. The university does not offer health insurance to GRAs and ACA plans will now be too expensive.
