They made this layout for the SNES so they could "technically" have 6 buttons for fighting games. But I'm not sure why the order of AB and XY is reversed compared to the Genesis/MD controller.

Tii Jiyen, my OC, used to own a Tesla Model 3. He recently sold it and bought a Ford F-150 Lightning.
He's much happier with the Lightning than his old Model 3.
