I'm a dog! Fursuits, art, and lots of pet photos. I love all animals Ⓥ R+ animal trainer, venomous snake relocator, crafter, and software engineer.

They/them. 35.

18+ please, I cuss a lot and talk about adult stuff sometimes!

Also!!!! Training nerd moment: horses have been shown to be able to differentiate and point to signs for "blanket on" and "blanket off", so they can make choices in their own care! Very cool, and something I hope I can implement with my future companion <3 equusmagazine.com/horse-world/...
Training horses to choose their own blankets
Norwegian researchers have been able to teach horses to indicate their preference when it comes to blanketing.

Some horses (especially older horses like this one) grow too much coat due to endocrine disease, and have to be clipped even in spring and summer so they don't overheat just hanging out in the field.

For the non-horsey folks: her body fur has been trimmed so she can exercise without excessive sweating in winter. Too much sweating when it's cold will cause her to get sick, and this lovely lady (Ellie) grows a thick coat. She wears a warm blanket to compensate for the loss of the coat.

I'm not mad, just very, very amused. I can spend most of my life learning how to do a real fancy veggie feast and life still finds a way to get my ass
