Surely you mean Nott’m Forest?
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
It’ll be the classic ‘give him a chance’. Two more Europa League losses and he’ll get the boot, too late to make a difference.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
Yes. We should absolutely be adopting this.

I just saw someone use the abbreviation “AI;DR” and I’ll be laughing for a while.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
This should be beneath anybody with a long term interest in the game.

By this token we should all be claiming Spurs are punching *way* above their weight in third. They should have been dead certs for the relegation they narrowly escaped last season!

Football doesn’t work like that.

‘Massively overperformed’. How tedious. There really are some fragile egos amongst the established in the Premier League. Forest’s performance last season was down to tactical nouse, a strong first XI and being largely injury free until the final few weeks. Trying to belittle them? Really?
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
Sadly, yes. It won’t and can’t last forever. But there’s every chance they give him another month, totally blows the Europa League and lands us in the early days of a relegation battle.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
Poor would be stretching. In the final month we had several key players injured. This was first season I can remember in many years Forest hadn’t had 3-4 players on the injury list at any time. We had a consistent and largely injury free season. This was a huge part in that success. Cost us.

Football fans of any club will put up with a manager giving it the Big I Am providing they’re winning games and playing good football.

Ange is not only not achieving that, but his tactics are naive and a poor match for the squad itself.

It’s not a good fit.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
Can’t say I don’t agree, here.

I also feel like he’s done zero homework before blagging the job.

He can say he’ll fight for his job. But it’s not for the good of the club he’s joined. It’s very much about him.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
He might love a fight, but sure as hell is good at losing them.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
Depressingly, probably.

And then 2 weeks later he’ll fire him. After losing more Europa League and Premiership games.

That feels on brand, right now.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
Agreed.

It’s just depressing watching a square peg being banged against a round hole every few days.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
Agreed. Tactically the two were so poles apart that it’s bewildering as to why Marinakis thought it would work. Ange talks the talk, but it hard not to see this as a guy who blagged his way in without a clue over his to do the job once he had. It embarrassing to watch.

#NFFC Is no wins in 7 enough? Is no sign of improvement enough? Is no understanding of the squad’s strengths, no Plan B and no signs of even a *willingness* to adapt enough?

15 goals conceded in 7 games, by a team whose defence last season was one of the tightest in the top flight.

Depressing.

Sound advice.

To be fair? Who wouldn’t listen to Vincent Price?
mjpcuervo.bsky.social
Vincent Price advertising monster-shaped vitamins.
Vincent price says
"Come a little closer, madam-I want to save you 25€ on Monster Vitamins"
Kids love Monster" Vitamins. They come in 7 monstrous shapes and colors. And they taste terrific. Even more important, Monsters contain 10 essential vitamins. Children should get vitamins by eating right, but when they don't, Monster Vitamins and Monster Vitamins Plus Iron sure help.

And yet we still shipped 3 goals. We still lost.

For a team who had such an impressive defensive record last season, netting Selz deserved acclaim, the high defensive line is costing us. Our goal difference is abysmal. 13 goals conceded since he arrived.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
True. But the reason people are frustrated is because every match feels like the same mistakes repeated. There is so little evidence on show of *learning* from mistakes. Of adapting in order to improve.

That’s the issue here. Failing to win and letting in so many goals is bad. Not learning? Worse.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
And yet you are yet to get a win, Ange. How many goals have we conceded in the process? It’s not like the complaints are unwarranted.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
Classic Ange, though. This is how Spurs ended up 17th last season. The tactics are self-destructive.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
Is Edu really the best guy to make that call, though? This mess is in part a result of him. Arguably if not for his overreach we would still have Nuno in place, and a squad which was behind the manager.
thatmarkroberts.bsky.social
Arguably Hughton, too. Same result every match. Same tactical failures. Same refusal to adapt.
