Short Guy, generally nerdy.
Just finished Kari Byron’s “Crash Test Girl”, now openly opining how to try and convince @karibyron.bsky.social to regale Georgia Highlands College’s STEM students with a visit. C’mon, Miss Byron, there are dozens of them!

(As for the book: an interesting read. The woman pulls no punches. Read it!)

Why do I even watch football?

There is a small bit of smugness to adding an authenticator. Feels like adding a deadbolt to a saloon door…

I am barely halfway through Carolina Classic ‘23, but if you can make it in Deadlock Pro, you can make it in modern wrestling. Andrew Everett and Lebron Kozone deserve millions. #skeewhoa

Fights In Tight Spaces still holds up. A great game for those of us who enjoy actually being able to pause a game when life happens.

As much as I enjoy a good Diablo/Destiny run, Short Gal waits for no demon.

Mina Kimes remains Chiefs-esque in her suggestions. Sea Change and Mutations are peak Beck woe.
Sea Change is in my regular rotation. I think it’s a masterpiece.
Being that age, I am mainly curious what Mina listens to of Beck. I haven't really paid attention to him since Loser.

Finished “Brothers” by Alex Van Halen. A genuine biography, though I’d be interested in hearing the opinion of a reader who has not heard Alex’s voice. If you have a slightly-more-than-passing interest in Van Halen, it’s a quick and worthy read.

I joined BlueSky to get away from insane discourse. I then followed all my favorite science/football folk.

As above, so below.

One is an inhumanly-strong monster who greedily murdered indiscriminately, the other is Michael Myers. An excellent work in painting the picture of a burgeoning town haunted by evil…one state over from Haddonfield. Go buy it and give Harold Schechter ya money!

As I’m sure its clones also possess, Pluto TV now has a 24/7 Mythbusters channel. It got the coveted eyebrow raise from Short Gal, so there shall be no more channel changing in Castle Short.

I feel as if some games arrive at just the right time. Animal Crossing helped millions mentally navigate a global pandemic. Webfishing arrives as if to say “shit’s cray, get fish’d”. Presciently purposeless.

“Leaving a 2 (degree Celsius) warmer Earth for Mars would be like leaving a messy room so you can live in a toxic waste dump,” write the authors of a book that argues Elon Musk’s intention to settle the red planet within the next 30 years is doomed to failure
Elon Musk has pledged to settle Mars. This book offers a reality check | CNN
In “A City on Mars,” Kelly and Zach Weinersmith investigate what life would be like for humans on the red planet, arguing that Elon Musk’s dream is doomed to fail.

Bought a 75” TV today…spent more time playing Webfishing on the Steam Deck. Priorities.

Had someone describe BlueSky as “feasible”, which…that says a lot about them to begin with, but it was because huge stars “only get a few hundred likes”.

Oh, you sweet, summer child. Stay innocent forever.

1. Get invite code.
2. Sign up, set profile, find cool folks to follow.
-Four minutes pass.-
3. Random “deep web” nonsense account follows. Doesn’t even have common courtesy to be named Stuart.

Yeah, this tracks.
