Muscadine Bloodline has long been one of my guilty pleasures. I always describe their sound as if a 2000s punk band decided to go country (complimentary). There’s less of that on this album, but it’s still enjoyable.

IDK why, but Kelsea’s last few albums haven’t really been my cup of tea, but the two EPs she’s released between them have been really good. I really enjoy Emerald City and People Pleaser are my favs here.

Time for your weekly music recs, starting with Kaitlin Butts’ Yeehaw Sessions, an EP of songs she covered in her set on her most recent tour. All four work for me, but “Red Wine Supernova” and Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle” are clear standouts.

Does anyone else find it ironic that Shannon knows Boston Rob and got advice from him before the season. She was the last person voted about before jury, and so was Rob in Marquesas.

I just want to say that character-wise and chemistry-wise, Uli is one of the best-assembled tribes of the new era. Literally every character was a hit for me, and their dynamics have led to so much drama and entertainment. #Survivor49

Brendan Walter has become a fast favorite of mine this year, too. His album “Disappearing Days” has a lot of good songwriting. IMO, style has a lot of similarities to Wyatt Flores.
Brendan is what people pretend Sam Barber is, but Brendan can actually sing and his songs don’t all sound the same.

This album may be my favorite release by a solo male artist this year. I loved Blaine’s last album (Tshirt is SO good), but the sound mixing felt off with the volume of Blaine’s awesome voice too low. This corrects that issue, and it’s so good.
