The border was open until Biden closed it less than a year before the election—too late. He wasn’t out there saying it was open but people were poring across in record numbers. They acted like they couldn’t do anything about it. Then it was such a political problem they all of a sudden did.

It’s not cruel to stop people from entering the country without permission or send them home when they do, but yeah the current bunch in Washington have done it in an unacceptable way.

They don’t want open borders, that’s for sure. You might, but most people don’t. People on the left fooling around with such policies are responsible for the slide towards Fascist-like right wing populist parties on multiple continents.

I think Americans want something in between Biden and Trump. So views shifted to the right because they thought Biden was too lackadaisical on the issue and it’s swinging a little left now because Trump is too cruel.
