To play devil's advocate, you could argue (unsuccessfully though, IMO) that it's still Feige at the end of the day, given his involvement in the FoX-Men from the jump.

i plan on getting around to 2 and 3. i know 4 and 5 are standalones that are doing the "Halloween was intended to be an anthology franchise" sort of approach but idk if i'll bother with them as I work toward catching the 2025 reboot (mainly wanna see the kid from Halloween Ends as Billy)

the actor who plays older Billy is just great. really enjoyed the build-up to the massacre. i think my biggest issue w the movie is the kinda lazy use of flashbacks very, very frequently to remind us of what we just saw and how it parallels to what we're seeing now

strongly agree with his takes on Billy. yet to see the sequel but have heard it's terrible and drops the ball with his brother, but the tragedy of Billy and the way this movie ends feels so Pamela Voorhees->Jason Voorhees that it's boggled my mind that this wasn't an enduring, treasured franchise

Even Son of Sam?

I'd argue you could throw on Home Alone or The Nightmare Before Christmas at any point in the year. They're just more versatile than something like How the Grinch Stole Christmas or Frosty
