5 stars for this dystopian fiction in which propaganda and lies are told to create a divide and dehumanise a whole sector of the population to keep women as breeders and men as fodder for war. Follows four main characters, two on the side of the Brethren who are in charge and two who have…

Since last year I’ve been reading this series with my seven year old. I never read them when they first came out and I’m loving the experience, as is my seven year old

What’s a book you would love to share with your kids?

T Kingfisher does it again twisting fairy tales into something so much more than they ever were. A Sorceress comes to call is a loose retelling of the little goose girl but you can heavily see its inspiration within the book. Loved this one

Slowly building up my collection of hard back Terry Pratchett books. My favourite ones follow the witches or the nights watch. I have a special place in my heart for Granny Weatherwax.

I recommend reading this too. It’s from the perspective of the woman in 1984 and gives an interesting perspective on how this author sees the role of women in the world Orwell created

I’m not 100% sure this book is my sense of humour. I’m nearly finished with it, there are moments that almost make it read like a thriller told from the villains pov.

More reasons to enjoy Sea of Rust by C. Robert Cargill. The chapters don’t go up in regular numbers, they go up in binary language #booksky

Set my reading goal to 50 books this year. Of the 8 I’ve read at least 5 were ones I’d started last year and finished. (I tend to read more than one book at once and switch between them) #booksky 📚 #bookcommunity #storygraph #readinggoals

Current read: Sea of Rust

Sea of Rust is set in a dystopian world in which AI and robots are all that is left after a revolution and the robots have now turned on themselves to survive.

QOTD: I feel like this might be a controversial question but what are your opinions on AI?
