Thanks! I love them but I guess I’ve never seen of noticed the female. I’ve observed they are fierce defenders of their home nesting area often taking on larger birds.

We have two diseases that are doing real damage to our beech stands, Beech Bark Disease (invasive scale insect) and Beech Leaf Disease (nematode that attacks leaf buds). Yet another tree species (elm, ash, etc) facing decimation from invasive organisms.
