Given the amount of smoke damage all over the interior walls id say it was a genuine traphouse. Cook, smoke, crash, smoke some more, leave to find money to buy more meth, smoke crash repeat. This was probably a really sad place.

Likely old bunkhouse for farm laborers. Farm later subdivided but sold the bunkhouse as a large family home.

FIL is in a tiny town in appalachia and has a large home like this minus the meth contamination and even though it would suck ass to live in that town its valued at 400k. Two floors with basement, two garages. Definitely same amount of heated square footage.

You likely cant rennovate it as no one would want to even work in it. They will take a dozer to it but they wont want to crawl in its walls.

My suspicions were triggered by the amount of yellowing in the walls and the gutted wall in the dining room with a round bit of vent work that was likely an amateur attempt at creating ventilation for their lab after the kitchen walls started getting fucked.

I was right. It was a meth lab. Its on the dea's clandestine lab registry. Incident august 4th, 2004. Has probably been abandoned for the last 20 years.

Water damage in the bay window and several spots on the ceiling, likely roof leak and mold behind the walls. Weird rugs all over that family room floor. I wouldnt be surprised if it was a meth lab or a crackhouse with all the smoke damage. Paneling says grandpa but the damage could be grandson.
