Best I managed with my phone was this, running manual. It washes out the colors pretty hard. Small sensors and phone processors can do a lot, but not compared to a real camera with a nice sensor.

More common with small planes, not as common with airlines due to fuel issues. Guessing ATC was at capacity around the NYC metro and they could sneak out at the lower altitude. Just looked at flight aware…they did eventually get higher.

But this guy, and again I am NOT EXCUSING THE GUN BEING DRAWN AND POINTED, is actually correct. Close quarter from inside a car, slight cant to the weak side to allow for better control of recoil and less chance of a failure.
