Trump's base mostly consists of small-town folks who are given a diet of bullshit from their local news and the few "national" sources they can access, i.e. Fox News, etc. They're scared of big cities because there might be minorities and gays and subversives and thus believe they're all burning

I'm very glad that 1) my dad is long dead and did not see any of this nightmare, he would have lost his shit at Trump being president and 2) my mom is definitely sundowning and is a perfect mark for someone like Trump, but she hates his guts
