That feels like its some really good cut songs from The Acts (specifically Acts 4 and 5). I want this band to become bigger. I want Casey to have the ability to create the multi-medium experience he envisions for Act 6. Listen to @thedearhunter.bsky.social

To that concept with his band The Dear Hunter is just really cool. The Dear Hunter has 2 main story arcs ongoing (The Acts and The Indigo Child), A collection of concept EPs that make up The Color Spectrum, Migrant (the only non-concept album they have created as far as I am aware) and an EP

Subversion of typical concept album tropes with making “The Overture” last your entire first album and beginning the album with no instruments whatsoever just hits me real good. Its also crazy to me that Casey was like “Hey I wanna make a 6 album concept album” in 2004 and has mostly committed…

Battesimo Del Fuoco he is alluding to the “Baptism of Fire” that The Boy (AKA The Dear Hunter) will be undergoing during this story over the next 6 albums.
Some additional notes: Prog Rock bands are known to use orchestras in their Concept Albums and The Dear Hunter does use them but I love the…

We hear either 4 or 5 other voices acting as the harmonic choir that Casey’s voice uses as a pedestal to really shine even better. To conclude this song Casey repeats the line “The Flame is Gone, The Fire Remains” which will be a major theme throughout The Acts and by calling the song…

Of the following performance. I think that the reason is because all of Act 1 plays the role of the Overture for the 6 albums that the story spans. This means that Casey gets to pull something like this off. I should also note that this song begins and ends with Casey singing solo but I believe

While the song does introduce the listener to the story, the focus of these posts is to talk about and praise the musical aspects of these songs and albums. The most interesting thing for me about this first song is that it is not a typical Overture that introduces some of the themes and motifs

should be or should do I think it is so interesting that Casey chose to introduce the listener to the story with a full choral arrangement with no instruments whatsoever. To have the balls to start your 6-part Gesamtkunstwerk with a piece that only features his voice is really impressive.

I get that. Im trying to write a novel and make youtube videos but have a hard time keeping myself on track. Right now I am using a mini-project for BlueSky to help keep me focused on something each day that will help build towards those larger projects

If you want to introduce yourself to @thedearhunter.bsky.social’s Casey Crescenzo and his genius in composition without having to worry about the story, (or if you are a fan of instrumental work) listen to his album The Fox and The Hunt. It is an orchestral performance of some songs from The Acts.

I mostly want to discuss The Acts from the musical side of things. Yes I will be talking about characters from the story and how different pieces interact but only from how they affect the songs musically. This is really just me gushing about how well these songs are created.
