It's something that you have to at least make an informed decision on. The fact that this is the only way to get certain accommodations is violence and eugenics.
To the main point, getting that pseudoscience "diagnosis" has never resulted in any autistic person being "seen".

Receiving an outdated "medical diagnosis" of something that isn't medical at all, which even "experts" that pathologize autistic people agree is completely outdated, it's outdated to the point of getting people killed even beyond the dehumanization.
Getting it will severely harm your civil rights

I really hope people don't get convinced to get a "diagnosis" without making sure that it's really what's best for them first because of posts like this.

You should make it external, were more than a decade past people having any excuse to think functioning labels for autistic people is acceptable.

You're not supposed to give characters "flaws" they didn't previously have so they can "improve". The season should have been about the same Charlie who was doing a good job of starting her activism and learning from her mistakes in satisfying ways actually dealing with the problem of the Vees, not

Absolutely not, the way she "discovered" he got into heaven not only can't be right (if the show is still salvageable), but it's the biggest betrayal of her character. Readily accepting that he had some kind of moral obligation to pull the stunt he did,

People enjoying causing drama and being catty more than actually having constructive conversations about the show is a big reason why the fandom has completely gone down the drain. Why would someone even post in fandom spaces if this is their attitude?

You're not really understanding what I'm saying, it's not written like a trauma response at all, that's an excuse the fandom came up with to try to explain the writing objectively not making sense. It feels like you're just deflecting the very real problems with how

Okay, I'm not going to read any further up this thread (I saw your last post first and I was reading up) because you're not making any sense, but I need to point out that that scene wasn't played for laughs at all. It wasn't portrayed comedically.

In fact it's probably the most sensitive media I've seen reference the ripper, writers usually don't care this much.

I don't understand this point of view, given how Jack the Ripper wasn't even name dropped. It was absolutely kept vague and only based on the events. This is pretty normal for fiction referencing historical events.

treated. Having a lot of trauma from such an awful death doesn't require being sheltered first, it's a pretty natural reaction (I mean in general, I don't agree that any of her behaviors are explained by trauma, or anything other than a negative flanderization of her autistic traits).

This is not directly addressing the point you're trying to make, but Charlie not so sheltered that doesn't understand how the world works, she's legitimately the only character who has displayed any sort of uncompromised morality or intellectual understanding of how the sinners should be seen/

*had a moral obligation to do or else he would be a bad person forever*, the most disgusting thing this show has ever implied. (and Charlie literally came to that conclusion herself. That alone is a character assassination in my mind, regardless of anything else.)

You're giving the writing way too much credit here. The story itself doesn't respect the fact that Charlie was portrayed as guilty and responsible for her friend's death, given how quick and willing she was to decide the apparent tragedy was something he

Zoning out isn't natural, it's sickness/distress. Someone zoning out needs time and space like someone throwing up or experiencing fatigue might. Sometimes autistic people just need more time.

Id argue that's a bad idea because allism isn't just being non-autistic, and people outside of the community need to learn what allism is.
