There will obviously be more seasons so I hope the show takes some interesting twists overall if you like the first season and want more of the same then you will have a good time with it. But if you wanted something more out of the sure like I do you will probably be let down.

Something along the lines of "you can condemn and critique the system all you like but at the end of the day you still have to play by their rules."

Your voice only matters because its profitable.

I feel like it could have been more self aware of itself and use that as almost a meta narritive for its over all themes and have something really interesting to say.

Squid Game feels similar where there will be several more seasons probably a spin off or two until audiences are fed up with it and Netflix cancels it. Anticapitalism is a product
It's still a fun show but its hard to take its themes seriously when it so actively partakes in the system it demonizes.

Reminds me of an episode of Black Mirror where person is fed up with the system and the hyper consumerism. He makes a viral video with a knife to his own throat saying how fed up he is. He realizes he can make a profit and just sells it ideology back to people and reaping in the rewards.

The Boys satirizes and mocks our obsession with super heroes and larger than life people but at the end of the day it becomes the very same thing. It mocks cinematic universes while it has 5 seasons, 2 spin offs and a third spin off in development.

It so weird that there are an increasing number of high budget TV shows critiquing captialism and consumerism only to become what it critiques. Same issue with The Boys.

Its fascinating being able to see GMT take all of the analysis he's accrued over the years of examining other people's games and apply it to his own. The game feels fleshed out and intuitive to play. Its not the longest but its able to give you the tools of the game and build off them in a fun way.

Hopefully I don't come accross as too harsh I think what they were able to accomplish is truly astonishing!

The people behind Batman: Beyond wanted to capture the vibe of the animated series, and in that regard, they succeeded. The dialogue, while corny, feels like it came right out of the animated series. If you like the original animated series, you might get aa kick out of watching this.
