Great news! I'm told a few moments ago US Institute of Peace Board Chair Amb. George Moose went to the USIP building where he and legal counsel were able to retake possession after the recent court decision. They were accompanied by a small team securing the building and assessing maintenance needs.

Let me clarify what I meant by this—I mean it's a shame a TRO wasn't entered, but that doesn't mean Judge Howell was wrong when she denied it. This is a good illustration of the difficulties courts and parties are facing with the administration's novel approach to governing.

In addition to appointing Cavanaugh as the acting president of USIP, Rubio and Hegseth’s “resolution” directs him to “transfer USIP’s assets, including USIP’s real property and rights thereof, and including all assets recently received from the Endowment, to the General Services Administration..”
