You're right - I'd still kill for intermittent highlight reel style uploads.

Like the shittiest, quickest and lowest effort version of say your promo vid for Dragon's Dogma 2, post-recording voiceover on collected example clips.

It's wild how many businesses they have recessed into building conglomerations and not on the ground floor.

If you're not paying attention you might not realize that's not the store backroom, that's the stairs to the shop above, like a dozen times minimum in the city.

Parenting advice is so often self-reporting, it's great.

You can't just say that!

I somehow was never looking at the screen when Shima's name was typed out, so this whole time I assumed they were:

Shima da' Tiger

Sometimes I wonder how different Square Enix would look and operate nowadays, if Yoshi P had taken one look at FF14 and said 'naw, fuck that'.

How many decisions would they not have made, without the backdrop of FF14's money faucet?

It looks like she's smearing her wet clown nose across the screen left to right.

She's even leaning into it.

They're adding a way to de-progress your file if you're too deep in the game, which I believe will be as a new cauldron brewing option.

They are at least assuring this update doesn't mandate starting a new save to see the new stuff.

Did they ever say that this impending DLC is the last?

It's the last listed DLC on previously provided roadmaps, but I haven't seen any 'and that's the last one from us' style messages.

Couldn't this be the start of an Owlcat style 'you thought we were only doing one DLC wave' thing?

Like, even though the mid and late game enemies are tougher, that doesn't change that you know how to master strike and parry the shit out of them, and are generally good at doing that across games.

I think you'd like playing on Hardcore - also a bunch of the options are great for stream content.
October 23, 2025 at 4:39 PM
It's added more challenge, quite a bit more compared to when you last played.

But I think the problem is more that you learned the combat system to a high degree of skill, and fully engaged with all systems; you kind of need Hardcore to force difficulty back in when you're playing that well.

Sometimes it feels like Woolie is so in love with the idea of explaining why he thinks of things a certain way that it actively prevents him from registering data that might get in the way of explaining how he came to his assumption.

His chat successfully bullied him into doing so without explaining why beyond that it'll pay off later, so he's all set.

Some people struggle with the notion that other people can have other tastes.

Also, some people make liking a given thing core to their identity - good luck critically discussing something they've tied to their ego.

The appropriately colored iris cut-ins on the D of Blind to match each person are great.

I wonder how Silent Hill f comes off to people with way less media literacy, who just do the one playthrough.

Nevermind not having done their own research to find the red pill history stuff you found, what about people that don't even know the Silent Hill tropes?

Based off Bioshock Infinite, Ken Lavine seems like the kind of guy to have a pet die, get a new pet of the same type and call it the same name - not even [Original Name] 2, but just the same name again - and then act like it's actually the same pet.

It's so frustrating that they seem to have made exactly what was hoped for... OTHER than the single most important part, the roster.

I feel like you could staple a levelup system onto most any combat-heavy Metroidvania that's particularly hard, and it'd help the game more than hurt it.
September 8, 2025 at 4:46 AM
If Silksong somehow had an out and out grind-xp-to-level-up-stats system alongside the more prototypical finding of new movement options to unlock progression, like Symphony of the Night, Aria of the Moon and all those Castlevania games, it would've done a lot to take the edge off.

Ah well.
September 8, 2025 at 4:42 AM
The trick was to have it already wishlisted, and go through the wishlist screen to add to cart to then go to the purchase page.

I STILL can't load Silksong's own Steam page.

Levelling anyone but Squall is fine, since the level scaling is tied to Squall's level, not a party average or anything.
