I say this as someone who was a vet tech and owns all shelter dogs, there are too many dogs in the world for us to save them all. Shelters are doing the dogs who are safe and stable a disservice by continuing to push dangerous unstable dogs on people instead.

Shelters are part of the problem to btw even if no one wants to say it. They are full of these unstable and dangerous dogs but won’t BE them. Instead some of them choose guilt tactics to get people to impulse adopt them. These dogs either get returned and/or BE’d anyway.

And blaming it on a specific breed when the vetmed industry is seeing this issue across breeds of dog in this new gen bc this is the final result of backyard breeding and pet parents not s/n their dogs, risky mentally unstable animals. It’s not going to get better or change unless ppl stop

You can only throw different breeds together and inbreed those prodigy for so long before the adverse affects impact the entire community of dog owners. In fact most of these dogs weren’t even actually pitbulls just backyard bred bully mixes. It’s a systemic issue that’s only going to get worse
