Unfortunately, PBS never actually owned Sesame Street. The show is owned by a nonprofit called Sesame Workshop, who pbs gave money to make the show. In like 2015 or so, pbs couldn’t afford to fund the show, so S.S. got moved to HBO. PBS can still show Sesame Street, though
