In 2022, protestors hurled bricks, faeces at police & lit fires. Winston Peters said those protestors just wanted to be "heard" & shook their hands.

This week Peters called the mostly peaceful, law abiding Kiwis outside his home "gutless, spineless, [the] worst" protestors #nzpol
Faeces thrown at police at Parliament protest
Poo was pelted at officers during an early morning operation today to contain the protest at Parliament. The 3.30am operation caught the occupiers off guard with attempts to thwart the plan, resulting...

@thepress.co.nz please do your jobs and investigate their concerns of the protestors, not just show them being arrested

Please explain their concerns in your publication

No proof at all, it even happened days after the protest so even less likelihood of a link. They've just launched into attacking the left in general and Chloe Swarbrick in particular because they know they have to fight filthy to have even a chance at getting their way and are terrified they'll lose

It's not even covert, it's an overt and open attack on women

Mild correction, they're the party of "free speech for me but not for thee"

I'd call them swine, but that would be an insult to pigs

They've all been bought and paid for, to all appearances, with as you say a few notable exceptions

The current government seems determined to more than singe the treaty, they appear to want it to go up in flames completely

Another thing to complain about, their email to contact for complaints is hidden behind a fucking paywall
Scrolled screenshot showing the method of complaining to the NZ Herald being behind a paywall

That comes to about 1.7% of our total population. Almost 1 person in 50 nationwide on strike at the same time #nzpol
nug.monster
that's ~90,000 people striking, for those of you not good at maths

That's what's annoying me, everyone is yelling about it being a protester and then there's been the whole OneNZ ad thing, but no proof that any protesters were in any way actually involved. The protest outside his house was last Thursday and the window was broken on Monday. To me, no link...
thebobbicus.bsky.social
To being a protester? Or just to breaking the window?
thebobbicus.bsky.social
Is there any actual evidence that it was a protestor that broke the window yet? Or do we just have Winnie's word for it (and the sign that was left, I'd expect that to have been published far and wide by now if it said what he says it did)
thebobbicus.bsky.social
Is there any actual evidence yet that it was a protestor that did it?

I likewise would have expected there to be photos of the sign to be everywhere if it said what Winnie is claiming
thebobbicus.bsky.social
But smashing the window as an act of political violence probably wouldn't have any further illegal act intended on the , so burglary wouldn't be a valid charge to bring against them
thebobbicus.bsky.social
They've charged someone with burglary, which says to me it wasn't politically motivated and Winnie is just leaping at the chance to bash the Greens some more
thebobbicus.bsky.social
No idea, but if they're charged with burglary (even if it gets downgraded to attempted burglary), that says to me that it wasn't politically motivated and Winnie is seizing on a convenient break-in attempt to push the protest-limiting changes they're touting at the moment
thebobbicus.bsky.social
They've now got someone charged with burglary over the window, but Winnie is still blaming Greens inciting violence
