Love my family. Love music. Love sport. AG Insurance Soudal / Kim Le Court / Sarah Gigante. Chasing time with a thousand dreams.
Best of luck to the AG Insurance team competing in the Simac Ladies Tour which kicks off today with a circuit race in Leuven. It's all about sprints for Shari Bossuyt and maybe some people going off in breaks (hi Nicole!) Hard to see anyone stopping Wiebes winning basically every stage TBH.

The Simac Ladies Tour starts in less than 48 hours, at 13:00 CET on Tuesday, and we have absolutely no clue who is riding for most of the teams. I'm not even sure Lorena has officially been declared a starter, although obviously she will be. Surely the teams know who they are sending?

Being a cycling fan certainly keeps your feet on the ground. After spending the week getting excited about Kim Le Court’s return at Plouay, the first thing we see on the live coverage is Kim pulling out. Some bug or other, I gather. Lead group finishes for Justine & Ashleigh, great effort from Alex

So the day after I discover that Puck isn’t riding in the WC, I discover that PFP has changed her mind and she is going to ride. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away I guess. But if Kim does win I want her to beat the strongest possible field, so bring it on Pauline I say! (But also damn it!)

Bloody hell, Puck Pieterse is not going to ride in the WC in Kigali - she's focusing on the MTB Worlds. Riejanne Markus is her replacement. Big blow to the Dutch - I saw Puck and Demi in the final group able to play off each other. Now unless AvdB has a big day, Demi could be on her own at the end

It's as you were among the leaders in the Tour de l'Avenir Femmes after yesterday's stage ended in a 50 rider bunch finish. From the look of the parcours, probably much the same today. The race will be decided on Friday when we have a short mountain stage followed by an evil ITT (69 m/km elevation)

Really pleased to see Alex Manly named in the Australia team for the Kigali World Championships. Many congrats Alex!

No change in the top 19 on GC as the first stage ended in a 50 rider bunch sprint. No bonuses for stage finishes though? Wolf cubs all safe in the lead group.
Stage 1 of the Tour de L'Avenir Femmes was won by Célia Gery of France.

Nice start for the Wolf Cubs in Avenir Femmes, with Lore in 6th and Emma 12th after the opening ITT. Some serious talent in this race - including GC leader Isabella Holmgren who is 20 and who finished 7th on GC at the Giro! I wasn't watching much at that point because I'm an idiot.

I don't pay that much attention to the men at present, but why is La Vuelta in Italy? Don't they already have a grand tour?
All smiles ahead of Stage 1 here in Turin 😄

Good luck to Wolf Cubs Lore de Schepper, Tess Moerman and Emma Siegers (for Belgium) and Helena Jones (for the US) in the Tour de l'Avenir Femmes which starts today with a 3 km prologue (up an 8% slope in Tignes). Lore's highlight this year was an amazing 20th in LBL - what a fantastic day that was!

Ridiculously dominating from Lorena. Great work from the team with Guarischi very visible as usual in the lead out. Andersen 2nd and Shari Bossuyt a very respectable 3rd, still finding her best sprinting legs I think. Pellegrini decided to sprint today instead of trying a breakaway and was 4th
Lorena Wiebes wins the 2025 edition of GP Lucien van Impe - it's the 17th win of the season for her

Quinty Schoens did the big solo break of the day, but was caught with plenty of time to go. From there, SD Worx managed the effort and attacks

Quinty Schoens has a lead of around a minute with 32 km to ride at #GPVanImpe - the Evil Empire now lined up on the front of the peloton with Wiebes in fourth wheel.

Sporza have live coverage of today's GP Lucien Van Impe, as 150 riders try and find a way to stop Lorena Wiebes winning. Given those odds, there must be a way surely? But I think I see her sitting on the front of the peloton looking all powerful. Two riders up the road but only at 12".

Very best of luck to AG Insurance in today's GP Van Impe. Should end in a bunch sprint. Shari our go to woman, and with Ilse and Gladys in the line up there's plenty of powerful support for her there. Just the small matter of Lorena Wiebes to beat and we'll be fine! #GPVanImpe #GoWolfpack #AndCubs

Break collapses, leaving Truyen and Haugset off the front

Question: do major pro teams have a scouting arm which looks beyond the traditional source of European club / junior racing? I'm intrigued as to why virtually every pro team passed on signing Kim Le Court, and even more intrigued that none of them seemed to know anything about her in the first place
August 19, 2025 at 1:43 PM
Plea for the UCI and race organisers - if each rider in a team wore a different coloured helmet it would be much easier to work out who was who from the front. I'm trying to become familiar with the AG Insurance mob but can only recognise their really big guns so far (none of whom are here)
August 19, 2025 at 1:38 PM
I'm back. Break still clear with 38" lead over the peloton. AG Insurance pulling on the front and various attacks starting to come. I'm not entirely convinced this is going to come back, in fact, the bunch doesn't look very coordinated
August 19, 2025 at 1:31 PM
Good luck to Fauve, Leonie and four of the U23 Wolf Cubs representing AG Insurance in today's Egmont Cycling Race in Zottegem (look out for that tight right hander near the finish). If the U23 team aren't called the Wolf Cubs then why not?? It might be live on some funny channel, I'm still looking

One bit of info I'd missed, that PFP will not be riding the WC in Rwanda. Her programme is Plouay (or whatever we are calling it now) - Ardeche - the EC. Does that make figuring out what will happen in the WC any easier? Probably not.

Not sure Urska blew it - the mistake didn't help but the final was a group of 3 who were all working, holding off a group of 11 where only Urska and Mireia were working, four were getting in the way and five were strangely disinterested cyclinguptodate.com/cycling/ursk...
Urska Zigart blows golden chance to win Tour de Romandie Féminin 2025 after downhill error; Elise Chabbey seals GC victory
On the final day of the 2025 Tour de Romandie Féminin, Urska Zigart was on the brink of the biggest win of her professional career. Clad in the yellow jersey and with the full backing of her AG Insura...

Great effort from Urska, but Elise was just that bit too strong on both major climbs and managed to get sufficient distance to pull back her GC deficit today. Congrats to her. Amazing support again for Urska from Mireia. I love this team! #TDRF25
The 2025 Tour de Romandie Féminin was won by Elise Chabbey of FDJ-Suez.

You just wondered watching the finish if Chabbey missed a chance to open a big enough gap on Zigart to take the GC lead. But congrats to her for a great stage win.
