We flew from Copenhagen Airport (CPH) to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) on SAS this evening. The flight was around 90 minutes, but a full hot meal was served. SAS just brought Business Class back to its intra-Europe flights on October 1st to align with Air France and KLM. I'm happy to report that the meal service was a welcome addition and it's good to have something hot to eat up front.

Operations at Des Moines International Airport (DSM) remain suspended after a Delta Air Lines Bombardier CRJ-900 (operated by Endeavor Air) slid off the runway on Saturday night during the major winter storm. The incident occurred around 10:00 PM, when an arriving flight from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) lost traction on the snow-covered pavement. All passengers were safely transported back to the terminal and no injuries were reported.

Norse Atlantic Airways is a low-cost carrier that is headquartered in Arendal, Norway. The airline began in February 2021 and flies between Europe and North America, Africa, and Asia. The airline has been cutting routes for a while now and previously had stopped serving Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

In travel news this week, New Pacific Airlines shut down, several airlines added and cut routes, I had tea time on British Airways, and I shared my review of the Park Hyatt Toronto. It was a quieter than usual week due to the holiday, but I have tons of hotel and lounge reviews on the way.

Ryanair is shutting down its Prime frequent flyer program just eight months after launching it, citing unexpectedly high costs driven by members who took full advantage of its discounts and perks. The airline revealed that while 55,000 travelers subscribed to the program and it generated €4.4 million in fees, members received more than €6 million in benefits, which made the club unprofitable.

Spirit Airlines kicked off the holiday season yesterday with its Black and Yellow Friday event. It offers travelers a wide range of discounts on flights, vacation packages, loyalty points, and Spirit Saver$ Club memberships. The promotion runs through Cyber Monday (and in some cases later) and gives customers multiple ways to save on trips through early 2026. Travelers can book one-way fares starting at just $25 for Saver$ Club members and $30 for non-members (through December 1st).

Passengers flying on Airbus A320 family aircraft in the near future may want to monitor their flight status closely. Airbus issued an Alert Operators Transmission (AOT) in an Emergency Airworthiness Directive from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) that affects a significant number of its A319, A320, and A321 aircraft after discovering that intense solar radiation can corrupt critical flight control data.

Aegean has unveiled one of its biggest sales of the year. It offers travelers up to 70% off flights across its entire network. The Black Friday promotion, which is available for one day only (today), includes discounts on both domestic and international routes and even let's you book Business Class on sale. The sale covers travel from January 12th through October 24th and applies to all direct and connecting Aegean flights.

We flew from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Copenhagen Airport (CPH) today on British Airways in Club Europe (Business Class). Even though it was a short flight, we were served afternoon tea complete with scones, jam, clotted cream, sandwiches, and dessert. I hate to say it, but this tray was better than what I was served the night before on my transatlantic flight in United's Polaris® cabin.

TAP Air Portugal has kicked off its annual Black FLYday sale. It offers some great transatlantic airfare deals for flights in 2026. Travelers can score roundtrip Economy Class fares to Europe starting at just $347, while Business Class fares begin at $2,244. I've written about New Pacific Airlines several times over the past few years. In September 2023, the carrier planned to fly between Ontario International Airport (ONT) and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), Nashville International Airport (BNA), and Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO).  Las Vegas and Reno got the axe with Nashville ceasing shortly after. After that, it aimed to reinvent transpacific travel through Anchorage’s Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) with flights to Asia.

I flew from Tampa International Airport (TPA) to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) today to spend some time with family in New Jersey tomorrow. A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight attendant has once again gone missing during a layover in Canada. This continues a troubling trend that has plagued the airline for years. The latest incident involves a crew member who arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on November 16th while working flight PK 789 from Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE). He was scheduled to work the return flight three days later, but failed to report for duty.

I recently wrote about how BermudAir was cutting flights to/from Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL). Now, two more US routes are getting the axe in January. The airline had been getting ready for its busiest summer yet and unveiled an expanded schedule that would have offered up to 36 weekly flights from an all-time-high 11 cities across North America.

JetBlue Vacations is kicking off the holiday season with a weeklong Black Friday sale designed to help travelers book their dream trips in 2026. Beginning today, November 26th and running through December 5th, customers can unlock significant savings on flight and hotel packages as well as flight and cruise bundles. During the promotional period, travelers can save up to $1,000 on JetBlue Vacations packages based on their total spend.

American Airlines flight AA 2118 was traveling from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) when it had to make an unscheduled landing on November 23rd after the crew reported fumes in both the flight deck and the cabin. The incident prompted an immediate diversion to Houston, where the aircraft landed safely at George Bush Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

Southwest Airlines is adding to its route map once again. The latest update focuses on Southern California with record-setting service at San Diego International Airport (SAN) and new connections across the Greater Los Angeles area. San Diego International Airport (SAN) continues to see substantial investment from Southwest. It will reach an all-time high of 139 scheduled departures on peak days in August and September 2026.

I had to attend a dinner in Toronto this month and chose to stay at the Park Hyatt Toronto. The property is located not too far from the St. Regis Toronto (review here) and the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel (review here) where I stayed on my last few visits to the Canadian city. The hotel was perfect for my event and I enjoyed my brief time there.

Iberia will strengthen its transatlantic network next year with the launch of a new daily service between Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). The inaugural flight is scheduled for March 29th to coincide with the start of the airline industry’s summer season. This new route will complement Iberia’s existing 2x daily flights to New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Breeze Airways is a low-cost airline that offers point-to-point flights to underserved markets across the United States using a fleet of modern Airbus A220 aircraft. I’ve flown Breeze several times and enjoyed the experience, overall (you can read the latest review here). Travel & Leisure named it as one of the five best US airlines for the fourth consecutive year in 2025.

The holiday season has officially arrived and Delta Air Lines is marking the occasion with a Cyber Monday event to help travelers save on flights, vacations, cruises, rental cars, and earn extra rewards. From December 1st through December 3rd, deals will be revealed across Delta’s worldwide network, which covers destinations in Asia, the South Pacific, Europe, Africa, and beyond. Many of the discounted fares apply will start as early as this December, while others begin in January 2026.
