We’re excited to welcome Belgium-based sound artist Romeo Poirier to Baltimore for an Essential Tremors Presents performance on Thursday, Sept. 19, at Design Distillery in South Baltimore. Poirier’s work weaves samples and electronic processing into sublime audio tapestries.

Adjacent to — but distinct from — the Dischord-centric punk scene in DC, there is another lesser known scene that steadily grows in stature.

It’s an intellectual/experimental and scene, led by a long running semi-electronic band called The Caribbean.

They run a cool little festival every year.

As is often in the case with people whose work is thoughtful, compassionate, soulful, and heartfelt, Colin Greenwood was all of the above when I got to talk to him for my show, Essential Tremors: www.npr.org/podcasts/587...
