R K Laxman (1921–2015) was a legendary Indian cartoonist, illustrator & humorist best known for creating "The Common Man". For over 50 years, his cartoon strip, You Said It, appeared on the front page of The Times of India, providing a satirical commentary on Indian politics and society. #Laxman

Dastardly and Muttley originated as characters in Hanna-Barbera's Wacky Races (1968) but found their own spotlight in the spin-off Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines (1969-1970), where they played World War I pilots trying to stop Yankee Doodle Pigeon. #DastardlyandMuttley

The comic strip The Phantom was invented by US writer, director & producer Lee Falk. The newspaper strip 1st appeared in Feb 1936, with artwork initially drawn by Falk himself for the first 2 weeks, before being taken over by the artist Ray Moore. #ThePhantom was the first ever costumed super-hero.

The character/comic strip Dick Tracy was created by US cartoonist Chester Gould. The strip made its debut in the Detroit Mirror on 4 Oct 1931.
