The reason I believe that Schumacher's Batman films are better films than Nolan's is because Schumacher essentially made highly stylized big budget adaptations of the campy TV show. For a gay audience, they're incredible works of art. Whereas Nolan just made crime movies with a guy dressed as a bat.

One of my favorite subgenres of fiction has to be Harry Potter through the lens of a distinctly non-British culture. Things like Little Witch Academia or Sky High. I'm genuinely shocked Disney hasn't made a Star Wars Harry Potter.
