It's the same type of drawing - since the commonality is absent in concept art, the martial arts overlap with Mecha and military sci-fi goes unnoticed.
I just wondered why Toriyama drew tanks and gi's and gave it a try. It makes no sense how much it makes sense.

There's a draft of berserk forces that was a little "too cinematic". As in montages don't work the same way, had Bluebird (ELO) clocked for explaining Alpha Company survivors and IIs have been working the entire time Betas have been training. Being a Spartan is still a job, it's work.
